Please join us in promoting “OFF February 2026”

Mobilising Humanity Against Tech Alienation.

OFF is a global movement dedicated to combating rising technological alienation and reclaiming control over our lives — together.

Digital technologies have embedded themselves into nearly every facet of our daily lives – often failing to keep its promises. Without even realising it, we’ve been “used” by itinstead of using it. But the spell is breaking. The anaesthesia is wearing off: with each passing day, more people realise that the very tools meant to set us free are in fact enslaving us. Since technology has infiltrated every aspect of human existence, digital anaesthesia has numbed human autonomy and the capacity for critical thinking.

It is urgent to reinvent the OFF button that has disappeared from our lives and reclaim the right to use technology without being used by it.

OFF February developer Diego Hidalgo talks about the purpose of the OFF Movement campaign, and Doug Wood from Americans for Responsible Technology lays out plans for promoting the campaign in the USA.

The OFF movement calls for creatively and collectively reviving the Off button. “It’s not about switching everything off, but about regaining control over technology and ensuring that its development is aligned with human interests.” Offm.org
