USA: Which States Have Banned Cell Phones in Schools?

As of June 2025, 22 states and Washington, D.C., have enacted or signed laws restricting student cell phone use in K-12 classrooms. Local school boards are also implementing bans. A significant majority of parents and teachers support these measures, citing improvements in academic performance, behavior, and safety.
