The USA House Committee on Rules postponed a vote on H.R. 2289, a bill that would have restricted local governments from denying cell tower installations. The decision followed widespread opposition from health advocates and local governments, raising concerns about public health and local control over telecommunications infrastructure and laws regarding electromagnetic radiation.
A peer-reviewed study found that living near cell towers correlates with elevated white blood cell levels, akin to smokers, indicating immune stress from wireless radiation exposure. Heavy cellphone use also raises specific white blood cell counts, particularly among young adults, potentially contributing to chronic inflammation and immune system depletion.
